Former Tottenham striker Gary Lineker took to Twitter to comment on Tottenham’s season so far after Spurs’ first-half display away at Cardiff.
Tottenham went 3-0 up in the first half courtesy of goals from Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, and Heung-min Son.
The Lillywhites have been ruthless in front of goal recently as they put 6 past Everton and 5 past Bournemouth before going down 3-1 to Wolves, in their previous three matches.
A win against Cardiff saw the North London side still remain in touching distance with Liverpool and Manchester City. This is a considerable achievement given that Spurs were tipped to finish outside the top four by most pundits before the start of the season after they failed to add to their squad in the transfer window.
In stark contrast, both the teams above Tottenham have invested a considerable amount of funds in an effort to improve their squad in recent years.
Former Spurs striker Gary Lineker thus complimented Spurs on keeping up with the front two despite their low net spend and credited Pochettino for the achievement
Here’s what Lineker tweeted during the game:
