Hugo Lloris has been quoted in the French press as claiming that former Lyon team-mate Lisandro Lopez nearly joined Tottenham Hotspur.
The 29-year-old striker has scored 54 goals in 104 appearances for Lyon and reports in France suggest that Spurs made a deadline day approach to bring the Argentine to White Hart Lane.
Sadly it’s another case of a “nearly” transfer to Spurs – let’s hope Adebayor pulls his finger out and starts banging the goals in.
Lloris told L’Equipe: “Lisandro? It seems he almost joined Tottenham.
“He is a great player, charismatic and one who has given a lot to Lyon.
“He is a top player, who works hard for the team and can win matches. He is a player that deserves the best.”
