Micky Hazard has warned that big money signings will not guarantee success at Tottenham Hotspur next season.
The former midfielder’s comments come amidst speculation that Spurs are on the verge of spending a club record transfer fee for Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele (Telegraph).
Spurs have not spent a penny on any new players in over 500 days and are being tipped to bolster their squad ahead of the new campaign with Leeds United’s Jack Clarke already having completed a medical ahead of a £10million move.

Hazard is absolutely right, spending money does not mean that we are obligated to mount a bigger title challenge next season. However, strength and depth in some positions, including central midfield is something which we are desperately lacking.
