Sassuolo coach Roberto di Zerbi has sent a harsh message to rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Jeremie Boga and revealed that the youngster needs to become more consistent if he wants to evolve into a top player.
Boga has been in impressive form for the Serie A side since joining them from Chelsea last summer, notching up ten goals and four assists in 28 Serie A outings so far this season (transfermarkt.com).
The 23-year-old has been a constant menace for defences in the Italian top flight this season, having completed more dribbles than any other player in the Serie A (Opta via AS).
The Ivory Coast international has admitted that he is ready for a new challenge when the transfer market opens in the summer (Telefoot).
However, De Zerbi believes the former Chelsea youngster still has work to do if he is to reach the next level.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, the Sassuolo boss said: “Jeremie Boga has scored ten goals (this season).
“In certain games, he does sensational things to deserve an 8/10 rating for his performance. In other games, he literally disappears.
“He must find continuity and intensity, without performing intermittently. He must do it if he wants to grow.”

In fairness to Boga, most attacking midfielders and wide players can be accused of disappearing in some games as they are reliant on their teammates to bring them into the match by giving them the ball.
Boga has come on leaps and bounds this season but I am not convinced as of yet that he has what it takes to be a star in the Premier League. The pacy winger needs to sustain his current form for a longer period to attract the interest of the European elite.
