Tottenham have had a fantastic last few days as they won courtesy of late goals against Watford and Newcastle. Additionally, with Manchester City losing to Newcastle last week and Liverpool sharing the spoils with Leicester and then West Ham, Spurs have made up ground on the front two.
Spurs now sit just 5 points behind the league leaders and 2 behind City, thus ensuring that they cannot be ruled out of the title race. With Harry Kane’s recovery being ahead of schedule, Tottenham look to be well placed to finish the season strong.
Some experts have still questioned if Spurs are capable of going all the way. However, one person who certainly seems to have no doubt that Spurs are capable of winning the title is Liverpool defender Andy Robertson.
The Scotsman has had a terrific season so far and has been a vital part of Liverpool’s impressive performances. The 24-year-old full back has said that has said that he has no idea why people write Spurs off.
When asked if Spurs are in the title race, Robertson told The Evening Standard, “Of course they are. They played first last weekend and they [briefly] went ahead of City. It is tight up there. Tottenham are a fantastic team.
“People just write them off, but I do not understand why because they have been there the whole season. There are a lot of tough games for all of us in the run-in and we will see how it goes.”
