Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp offers Spurs prediction after mixed start to the season

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Tottenham ‘will be back’ after experiencing a mixed start to the Premier League campaign.

Nuno Espirito Santo came into the club this summer and hit the ground running, recording three top flight victories in a row to kick off his tenure in north London in the best possible way.

Those wins also came with the added bonus of Spurs keeping three clean sheets, which was something the club struggled to achieve last season.

But Spurs’ form in recent weeks has taken a huge dip and are now at risk of a fourth consecutive defeat in the league, losing to Crystal Palace, Chelsea and the North London derby at Arsenal.

Nuno is now under a slight bit of pressure to reverse his fortunes, and his side have another chance to stop the rut when they host Aston Villa this afternoon.

Things are more comfortable for Liverpool boss Klopp, whose team remains unbeaten and sit close to the top of the table after six games.

The Reds manager has praised the competitive nature of the Premier League and made a prediction on Spurs going forward.

He told Sky Sports: “The league is so strong. What Chelsea are doing, what [Manchester] United are doing…

“Arsenal, three weeks ago, everyone was wondering about them but now they’re getting closer to the football they want to play. Tottenham? Last week they struggled but they will be back…”

Nuno is under a bit of pressure to turn the side’s fortunes around and get them back on track for competition for the European places. Klopp certainly believes the club will turn it around, but it needs to happen sooner rather than later before things fall away even further.
