Liverpool legend believes Klopp should make a move for two Spurs players

Tottenham Hotspur were denied their first ever Champions League crown earlier this month when they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in somewhat of a lethargic final in Madrid.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge believes that his former side should look to raid Tottenham for two of their players in positions which the Anfield outfit are currently lacking.

The ex-striker believes that Jurgen Klopp would be wise to look to recruit Heung-min Son and Lucas Moura from the Champions League finalists.

Liverpool finished the Premier League season a single point behind Manchester City after leading the table for large portions of the campaign and will be looking to go one better buoyed by their European success.

Aldridge believes that Moura would provide good cover for the front three of Salah, Firminho and Mane which Heung-min Son would also slot into.

While he may have identified two players who could do a job for Liverpool, it would be hugely surprising if Spurs would even entertain an offer for either player considering the outstanding campaigns they have had.

Aldridge wrote in his column for The Sunday World: “Moura is a tricky forward who could slot into the team if any of the front three were out and the same could be said of his team-mate Son Heung-min, although I would be surprised if Spurs allowed the South Korean to leave after his outstanding season.

“It may be that Klopp and his excellent team of scouts have an ace up their sleeves as they look for an extra striker, with their signings over the last couple of years confirming they tend to get things right when they bring players to Anfield, so I’m confident they will get this one right.”

Opinion

Spurs would be foolish to let either player leave the club, let alone to a Premier League rival. Son and Moura offer the type of pace in attack that we desperately need and are able to play off Harry Kane to create space in behind the defence.

Supporters are looking for the club to strengthen the squad and the departure of either would significantly weaken our chances of pushing on and competing for silverware.
