Liverpool legend labels 22-goal striker targeted by Spurs as a ‘class act’

Jamie Carragher raved about Wolves striker Raul Jimenez this week, a player who is reportedly on Tottenham’s radar this summer.

Jimenez has been one of the standout strikers in the Premier League since moving to Molineux. Apart from his goal scoring exploits, he has also shown that he can be a constant menace for the opposition backline with his intelligent runs and link-up play.

The Mexican international has scored 22 goals this campaign in all competitions (transfermarkt) and ESPN reported earlier this month that both Tottenham and Arsenal were interested in the 28-year-old striker.

AS, meanwhile, report that Real Madrid have also entered the race for the striker after Zinedine Zidane identified the Wolves star as the ideal partner for Karim Benzema.

Although Jimenez missed out on Carragher’s team of the season, the centre half described him as a ‘class act’.

Explaining his decision to go with Sergio Aguero instead, Carragher wrote in the Telegraph: “I also considered Wolves’ Raul Jimenez, who has scored 22 goals in all competitions and is a class act.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Jimenez is probably the most well-rounded striker in the Premier League after Harry Kane as he has very few weaknesses to his game. I think he is destined to move to a big club in the summer but I don’t see any reason for him to come to Spurs, considering we already have Kane in our ranks.
