Liverpool legend spots sneaky Spurs tactic

Tottenham fell to their second straight defeat at Wembley yesterday, as visitors Liverpool ran to a 2-1 victory.

The game should have marked the grand opening of the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but delays have pushed the build back indefinitely.

Some rumours even state that the new 62,000 seat ground won’t be ready until at least March 2019.

Spurs will be hoping to improve their form before then, after looking extremely sluggish, sloppy and fatigue in the match against Liverpool.

The final 2-1 score lines flattered Tottenham dramatically, as Liverpool missed a host of chances, and never really had to get out of third gear.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher spotted a sneaky Spurs tactic at half time, in an attempt to gain themselves an advantage in the second half.

Tottenham were spotted only watering their attacking half of the pitch for the second 45, which nearly worked a treat as Lucas Moura motored away from Gomez and Alexander-Arnold.

However, it was not to be, and Spurs fell down into 6th place, a full six points behind Liverpool and Chelsea with only five games gone.
