Liverpool legend tips Harry Kane ahead of Mohamed Salah for Golden Boot

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has tipped Harry Kane to win this season’s Premier League Golden Boot.

The 40-year-old former defender believes Kane will beat last season’s winner Mohamed Salah in the race to become the league’s top scorer.

Carragher told Sky Sports:

“You ask me the same question for the next seven years, I’ll say Harry Kane,”

“He takes penalties, he’s never going to be left out, always going to play, got that mentality every season he wants to be top scorer, I think he’s going to go on and break all kinds of records.

“He’s signed that new contract, with the Real Madrid rumours and I think he wants to be the greatest goalscorer in Tottenham’s history, and I think he wants that PL record also and he has to stay at the club to do that.”

Salah netted 32 times in the Premier League in the 2017/18 campaign whilst Harry Kane managed a personal best of 30.

However, Carragher fancies two-time winner Kane to pip Salah to the award having already broken his ‘August curse’.

Both players currently have one goal each in the league but trail to Sergio Aguero, Richarlison and Sadio Mane who all top the chart on three goals each.
