Liverpool must be at their best to beat ‘dangerous’ says pundit

Tottenham Hotspur don’t come into their game against Liverpool this weekend in the best form, with three losses in the past four Premier League games.

It could be the worst possible time to face the top team in the League, or perhaps it could turn out to be the very best time.

Spurs will be determined to hang on to their third place in the Premier League, as they no longer find themselves as certainties for the Champions League spots.

Arsenal are just one point behind in fourth, with Man United three behind and Chelsea four behind.

However, Tottenham do come into the match off the back of three weeks break from the Prem, after their game against Crystal Palace was rescheduled.

The players were taken on a three day training camp in Barcelona before being given three days off ahead of the International break.

SkySports pundit Phil Thompson now claims that Liverpool will have to be at their best to beat Spurs.

He said (SkySports): “Spurs are always a top side. I think everyone loves the way they play the game, the way they love to build-up and they have got a top-class manager who likes to change things,” he told Sky Sports News.

“Spurs are still a dangerous side at any time. They may have lost three of the last four but you know them coming to Anfield, they may not be going for the title, but they need to consolidate to play in the Champions League because they need it in that magnificent new stadium of theirs. They are going to be fighting for those places so it doesn’t make things any easier for Liverpool.

“I’m expecting a massive game. They have big players and the nucleus of this wonderful England side is based around Tottenham players so Liverpool are going to have to be at their best on Sunday.”
