Liverpool star appears to taunt Jose Mourinho on social media after 2-1 win

Trent Alexander Arnold has taken to social media to taunt Jose Mourinho’s post-match comments after his side beat Tottenham 2-1 last night.

Mourinho said after the game that “the best team lost”, with the Spurs boss even admitting that he said the same to Jurgen Klopp following the final whistle.

The 57-year-old certainly had a point with his side looking the most likely to get the winner in the second half after spurning chances through Harry Kane and Steven Bergwijn.

While the home side dominated possession and enjoyed territorial advantage over the North Londoners, they failed to create too many clear-cut opportunities, with their first goal coming from a deflected strike and the second from a set-piece.

According to Opta, Tottenham had four ‘big chances’ during the game while the Reds had none.

However, Alexander-Arnold clearly disagreed with the suggestion that Spurs were better than the Reds on the night.

The Liverpool right-back took to social media to poke fun at Mourinho’s post-match comments with the following post:

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot quite fathom how so many people (including some Spurs fans) seem to think that Liverpool were the better side in the match since they had more of the ball. Mourinho’s game plan actually worked perfectly and we would have probably taken all three points had we had our shooting boots on.
