Liverpool star has plenty of nice words to say about Spurs ahead of clash

Almost five months ago exactly, Liverpool bested Spurs in the Champions League Final in Madrid, leaving Tottenham hearts in pieces.

While Mo Salah’s early penalty after a harsh handball call on Moussa Sissoko set the tone, Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker had a lot to say on June 1.

While Spurs were nowhere near their creative best, the Brazilian shot-stopper was at the top of his game to keep the Lilywhites out when they did fashion an opportunity.

The two sides come face to face again tomorrow for the first time since the final, with Liverpool flying high and Spurs struggling for form.

Tottenham have just four wins from 13 so far this season and are already out of the Carabao Cup, while the Reds are comfortable at the top of the table in the Premier League.

However, after Tottenham’s 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in the week, Alisson Becker has had plenty of nice words to say about his next opponent.

He said (Liverpool): “It’s always good to play against a tough rival. Tottenham had a tough moment in the last five games but they proved their value in the last one, they proved their quality.

“We played against Red Star and we know how difficult it is. They did well, they won 5-0. It will be a good game for us, a good test. Now we need to rest and focus on that game 100 per cent.”
