Some Spurs fans react to Hugo Lloris’ poor excuses

Tottenham Hotspur have plunged down into fourth place after yet another loss last weekend, along with a win for Arsenal last night.

Spurs went behind early to Liverpool, but fought back well to dominate the second half after Pochettino changed the team’s shape.

Tottenham equalised through a well-worked team move, finished off by Lucas Moura, before the Lilywhites began to knock on the door of a winner.

The best chance by far came in the way of Moussa Sissoko’s break away, as the Frenchman found himself in a two against one with Heung Min Son and Van Dijk.

Sissoko was forced to go it alone and ballooned his simple finish over the bar, squandering Spurs’ best chance at a winner.

However, what came next from Hugo Lloris was even worse. The club captain watched as a lofted ball flew through the air towards the back post, electing not to simply catch it.

He then palmed Salah’s tame header straight into the path of Toby Alderweireld, directing resulting in an own goal and another three dropped points.

Lloris later said (SkySports – quoted by HITC): “I tried to catch the ball twice but unfortunately there was no bounce, it bounced straight to the shin of Toby.

“And then what happened happened. The luck was probably on the opponent’s side.”
