Lloris reveals one ‘good’ thing to come out of Tottenham’s loss to Sporting

Hugo Lloris admitted that while the players were dejected following the defeat against Sporting Lisbon, the defeat may have come with one silver lining.

Lloris, who produced a couple of exceptional saves to keep the score at 0-0, suggested that this was a ‘good reminder’ for Spurs that at Champions League level the team has to be focused for 95 minutes and cannot afford to switch off.

The Tottenham captain insisted that the away side created enough ‘situations’ in the second half to have taken the lead.

The goalkeeper rued the fact that he and his teammates could not hold on for at least a point in the end and ended up conceding from a set-piece.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think the reaction from some Spurs fans and pundits after the game, has been over the top. I agree with Lloris that our second-half performance, for the most part, was quite good.

We were aggressive, pinned Sporting back and had several opportunities to put them under pressure by winning the ball high up the pitch. However, we lacked the killer instinct in the final third and had too many sloppy touches.
