Lloris speaks about his Tottenham future

Hugo Lloris appeared in Western Magistrates Court today, to accept the drink driving charges put upon him.

The Spurs captain was caught intoxicated behind the when on August 24, and spent many hours in a jail cell that night.

The Tottenham keeper has been given a hefty fine of over £250,000, as well as a 20 month driving ban.

Lloris has been out injured for the past week, with Michel Vorm deputising for him in his absence.

Tottenham also have the young and promising Paulo Gazzaniga in their ranks, waiting for his own chance in the first team.

Chelsea, Real Madrid and Liverpool all chose to splash the cash on expensive new goal keepers this summer something that would have caught Lloris’ eye, but he insists that his future is at Tottenham.

Lloris told RMC Sport: “You don’t control everything. I’m focused on what I do daily with Tottenham. The most important thing for me is to enjoy myself every day, whether that be at training [or learning from] my coach. I have a very special relationship with Mauricio Pochettino. You try to contribute to the club’s success and to improve every year. I’m very happy where I am.”

Lloris is hoping to be back fit this weekend for Spurs’ top of the table crunch match against Liverpool, which will see two of the tipped title challengers go head to head.

After suffering a shock defeat to Watford last weekend, Spurs will be keen to make a statement by taking a hefty scalp at Wembley.

A win would see them join Liverpool on 12 points.
