Lo Celso is off to Morocco

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Giovani Lo Celso since before we even played our Champions League final against Liverpool (BBC).

Despite our rumoured long standing interest, a move has failed to materialise for the Real Betis playmaker.
The La Liga side have confirmed that the former Paris-Saint German player has been included in their squad that has travelled to Morocco to take part in their pre-season friendly match against Raja Club Athletic.

With the transfer window closing on at 5pm BST for English clubs on Thursday, Spurs are certainly taking a potential deal down to the wire.
Spurs are also reported to have turned their attentions to Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes as a potential alternative for Lo Celso (Daily Mail).
With Christian Eriksen’s future in North London still uncertain given the fact that he will be out of contract next summer together with the fact that the transfer window for the likes of major European leagues such as Spain and Italy remaining open beyond the English window, Levy has to pull his finger out and make a deal happen.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Levy pulling his finger out…. Not going to happen. Deadline day dráma ensured. Big offer for player at last minute but paperwork does not go through… Sounds familiar. Its hard to understand that with the manager and facilities we have the buying of players problem remains. We still have a small squad including players who are not Premier league material. Sold trippier and only replaced dembele.

No Kane backup. Llorente is not good enough for us to challenge for honours although you can see levy resigning him for another year as a cheap option. No competition for Ali and Erik’son who wants a new challenge.

We also need a full back.

That’s 3 players minimum this week which is highly unlikely.

Levy and ENIC have not backed any manager to date as this is not their priority. Top 4 is all they want.

Potch will have to leave to find success.

  2. I’m all behind Levy pulling out of talks and walking away, it is obvious Betis are just pushing their valuation of Lo Celso way above what he’s worth because they signed a 20% selling on fee. That has nothing to do with us or the value that the player is actually worth ok you always want to push a players worth up so you get top dollar but there is a limit to how far you can push that. COYS!
