Giovani Lo Celso has taken to social media to express his delight at Tottenham Hotspur’s performance and win over West Ham United on Tuesday.
The Argentine was one of three players to come into the side from Spurs’ 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Friday, as he replaced Harry Winks in the pivot alongside Moussa Sissoko.
While Lo Celso did look a little rusty during the initial 20 minutes, he slowly grew into the game and started dictating proceedings in the second half.
The midfielder was Tottenham’s main creative outlet going forward as he took up intelligent pockets of space and tried to pick out forward runners.
He also picked up the ball deep in Spurs’ own half on several occasions and helped drive the team forward with his ability to beat players and progress with the ball.
It was certainly not surprising to see the 23-year-old win the Man of the Match award following the 2-0 win on Tuesday.
Here’s what Lo Celso tweeted after the game:

This was really one of the first occasions that we saw Lo Celso being paired with Sissoko in midfield and I thought the partnership worked really well together. The pair complement each other quite nicely with their respective skill sets. With Sissoko mopping up in front of the back four, it gave the Argentine more freedom to venture forward and take up pockets of space between West Ham’s midfield and defensive line.
