Loads of Spurs fans make the same joke as club posts images of players eating ahead of CL Final

Tottenham Hotspur are now just 24 hours away from the day of their first ever Champions League final, something that seemed so unlikely at the beginning of the season.

It is by far the most important night in the club’s recent history, and the players will be determined to overcome Liverpool and lift the CL trophy come Saturday night.

Spurs have come through as underdogs to beat Borussia Dortmund, Man City, and Ajax in the knockout stages of this year’s competition, but one more step is needed.

However, some Spurs fans are clearly concerned by the pre-match routine shown on Twitter today, as the club posted images of the squad enjoying breakfast.

If you cast your mind back to 2006, Tottenham needed to match Arsenal’s result on the final day of the season as the Lilywhites took of fierce rivals West Ham.

If they did so, Spurs would achieve Champions League football for the first time ever, however, the squad was hit with food poisoning after a pre-match lasagne at their hotel the night before.

With players forced to play, despite vomiting in the dressing room, Spurs lost the match and were condemned to a fifth-place finish behind the Gunners (Sky Sports).

Many Spurs fans all made the same joke today, as no-one wants a repeat of lasagne gate:
