London club are now just ‘days’ away from signing reported Spurs target

Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola has revealed that rumoured Tottenham target Andre Trindade is now edging close to a move to Fulham.

Andre has been an indispensable part of Fluminense’s midfield over the last couple of years and has emerged as one of the best young talents in Brazilian football.

The 22-year-old played a key role in the club’s Copa Libertadores triumph, which has only attracted further attention to him.

Unsurprisingly, a whole host of clubs across Europe are thought to be eyeing a move for the youngster, who is allegedly valued at £30m (Globo Esporte).

This includes Tottenham, with Lance reported two weeks ago that the North London club have sent scouts to watch the midfielder in action several times over recent months.

A couple of days ago, The Sunday Mirror (19/11, page 74) claimed that Fulham had moved into pole position to sign Andre in January.

The outlet explained that the Cottagers had identified the Brazil international as their top target to replace Joao Palhinha, who is attracting interest from Bayern Munich.

Fulham are close to beating Tottenham to Andre

Nicola has now revealed that Marco Silva’s men have already launched an offer for Andre, with a transfer now close to being agreed.

The journalist said on his official YouTube channel: “I want to give you exclusive information which was brought to me by an important source.

“This person called me on Saturday to tell me that an offer of 30 million euros has been passed on to Fluminense. The player (Andre) was pleased (with the offer).

“He also likes the project presented by the London club and feeling is that the hammer will be beaten in the coming days, unless a new offer appears and overtakes the one from Fulham.”

The fact that Marco Silva speaks the same language as him might have been a factor for Andre while the youngster’s entourage might also feel that he is more likely to get regular game time at a club like Fulham than a bigger side.
