Italian journalist Massimo Brambati believes Juventus missed a trick by not hiring Antonio Conte when he parted ways with Inter Milan a little over a year ago.
Nuno Espirito Santo lasted just four months in the Tottenham hot seat after being appointed last summer, with Conte replacing the Portuguese coach in November of last year.
In the ten months since, the Italian has completely transformed the mood among the players and the fans, with Spurs now looking to push on and close the gap with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Lilywhites have picked up 14 points of a possible 18 so far this season and are the only other Premier League club apart from City who are yet to be beaten.
Meanwhile, Juventus have endured a poor start to the season, currently languishing in seventh place in the Serie A table. The Serie A giants have not started their Champions League campaign well either, falling to a defeat to PSG in their opening game.
Following Juve’s 2-1 loss to PSG, Brambati suggested that the Bianconeri had made a mistake by not bringing Conte back to the club when he was available.
The journalist told TMW Radio (08/09/22 – as relayed by TuttoJuve24): “Allegri uses a method that is too old, like Inzaghi at Inter, giving little importance to aggression. This is the real difference from European football, where they massacre us.

“As I have always said, the best name to think of a reconstruction was that of Conte. Just look at how Tottenham is running at a thousand miles per hour.”

Brambati is right in saying that the best teams in Europe are ones who play with high intensity, both on and off the ball.
Even though Conte’s sides do not press high and are happy to play without the ball, opposition teams are struggling to cope with Tottenham’s intensity over the full 90 minutes.
