Some Tottenham fans have been impressed by how much Tanguy Ndombele seems to have slimmed down ahead of the new season.
The midfielder endured a difficult first season in English football and has come under criticism for his lack of effort and application.
Even after Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Watford in last Saturday’s pre-season friendly, the 23-year-old came was accused by some fans on social media of lacking work rate.
While there continues to be considerable speculation over the Frenchman’s future (Calcio Mercato), it has been suggested that the North Londoners are not keen on cashing-in on him as they still believe that he can come good (Football.London).
It looks like the former Lyon man has certainly worked on his fitness during the off-season, with the midfielder looking much leaner ahead of the new campaign.
When the club released pictures of the squad being put through their paces at Hotspur Way ahead of their season opener on Sunday, some fans claimed that the midfielder had lost a considerable amount of weight.
Is it my eyes or Ndombele looking slim in the training pics ?

He looks a lot fitter, he’s going to have a big season, we have a lot of games at the beginning of the season, it’s impossible for him not to get game time

Spurs Web Opinion
We saw a similar wave of hope from Spurs fans on social media during the lockdown that Ndombele would play a bigger part after the restart, having worked on his fitness. However, with a fully fit squad at Mourinho’s disposal, the Frenchman hardly got a look in. I am still not convinced that the 23-year-old will stay but if he does, I cannot see him getting minutes outside the Europa League or Carabao Cup.
