Louis Saha has tipped Tottenham to do ‘magical things’ in the Premier League next season under the guidance of Antonio Conte.
Appointed in November in place of Nuno Espirito Santo, the Italian coach led Spurs to a fourth-place finish and qualification for the Champions League next term.
After committing his future in North London, Conte reportedly set out plenty of demands for the summer transfer window (Telegraph) and Spurs have already started to deliver.
The recent arrival of Yves Bissouma from Brighton came after the acquisitions of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster on free transfers.
Former Tottenham striker Saha, who briefly played for the club in 2012, believes the club could be a surprise package in the Premier League next season but did not go as far as to say they could challenge for the title.
He told BoyleSports (via Football.London): “With a manager like Antonio Conte, Tottenham can do magical things.
“The Premier League is a different animal, but he’s shown time and time again that he can produce magical things and Harry Kane and Son are scary, they’ve also got a good defence.
“Whether they can mount a title charge will be Tottenham’s biggest challenge next season because the Premier League is the hardest competition to win.”
Saha also commented on new arrival Yves Bissouma: “Yves Bissouma is a terrific player and he can help with the balance of many aspects of the team and he can be a big asset to the club.
“He can play box-to-box football and help defensively as much as with the spells during games where the team disappears mentally.”
