Some Spurs fans are over the moon to hear that Heung-min has penned a new long-term contract with Tottenham, particularly given the question marks over Harry Kane’s future at the club.
A new contract for Son has been in the offing for a long time, with reports claiming as far back as January that the club were close to reaching an agreement with the South Korean.
Tottenham finally confirmed this morning that the 29-year-old has penned a five-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2025.
This news comes less than 24 hours following a report by The Sun which claimed on Thursday night that Tottenham have agreed to sell Kane to Manchester City for £160m, a claim that has been dismissed by the likes of Football.London’s Alasdair Gold.
Amid the speculation over Kane’s future, the loyalty that Son has shown by committing his future to the club was certainly not lost on Spurs fans.
Make this guy the face of spurs asap… future never in doubt. Never had the fans on edge no speculation about future . He loves the club more then Harry. Sonaldo 💙👏🏾

Between all the Kane uncertainty, I’m so glad Heung-min Son is a Tottenham Hotspur player. What a boy.

Spurs Web Opinion
Tying Son up to a long-term contract is the best piece of business Spurs could have done this summer, certainly bigger than any player that we can potentially sign. There is now no doubt that the South Korean will go on to achieve legendry status at the club.
