David Raya’s agent Jaume Munell has warned Brentford that the goalkeeper will leave for free next summer if they do not lower their asking price.
Multiple publications have revealed over the last few weeks that Tottenham have identified David Raya as their top target to take over the gloves from Hugo Lloris this summer.
The latest such update came from Football Insider, who revealed over the weekend that the Lilywhites are prepared to triple the Spaniard’s salary in an effort to persuade him to move to North London.
The publication added that Spurs could face competition for Raya’a signature from Chelsea, with the Blues also said to be keeping an eye on the goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail had claimed last week that Tottenham are only prepared to offer £20m for the 27-year-old while the Bees were demanding around £40m.
Raya’s agent has now warned Thomas Frank’s men that his client will leave for free in 12 months if they do not relax their demands.
Munell said (via Fabrizio Romano): “If Brentford does not lower the price tag for David Raya this summer, we’ll be ready to leave as free agent in one year.”

Brentford are not in a strong bargaining position, given Raya’s contract situation.
The Bees are certainly not going to get £40m for the goalkeeper this summer but they might look to get a bidding war going for him in an effort to push his price up to around £30m.
