Lucas Bergvall sheds light on his conversation with Kulusevski before joining Spurs

Lucas Bergvall has confirmed that he had a positive conversation with Dejan Kulusevski before signing for Tottenham and admitted that he found everything his compatriot said about the club to be true when he got to North London.

Tottenham ended the January window with a bang, sealing a move for Bergvall on transfer deadline day.

The midfielder, who is viewed by many in Swedish football as a future star, will spend the rest of the season at Djurgarden before linking up with the Spurs squad in the summer.

It has been widely documented that the North London club saw off competition from Barcelona to land the 18-year-old, with some reports indicating that the Lilywhites offered a bigger fee than the Catalan club and also promised the teenager a first-team role (Matteo Moretto).

It was revealed by Fabrizio Romano last week that Kulusevski played a key role in Tottenham’s capture of Bergvall, with the winger thought to have spoken to the youngster about the project at N17 and working under Ange Postecoglou.

Kulusevski told Bergvall about Tottenham

The new Spurs man has now spoken about his conversation with the 23-year-old and he admitted that he had an ‘incredible’ reception when he arrived at Hotspur Way.

When asked if he spoke to Kulusevski, Bergvall told Aftonbladet: “We talked a little before. In general, how the club works, how they work, how they train, what the days look like. It wasn’t a persuasive talk like that.

“He just said the club was great and I noticed that when I got there. I got an incredible reception. It’s a very family club, but incredible people.”

Dragusin’s and Bervall’s decision to pick Spurs ahead of Bayern and Barca respectively shows that many top young players in Europe are seeing the current project at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the right platform for them to develop and fulfil their potential.
