Lucas Moura makes amazing claim about Spurs’ Champions League hopes

Tottenham Hotspur conceded late let again last week as they made it three games in a row without a win in the competition.

Spurs drew 2-2 with PSV which all but sealed their European fate for this season.

Pochettino’s men led the game late on, but a Lloris red card and a late equaliser left Tottenham on just one point from three games.

Realistically, Tottenham will now need to win all three of their final Champions League games to have any hope of qualification.

They have games against PSV, Inter Milan and Barcelona remaining, giving them a chance of an extra nine points, finishing on ten in total.

Tottenham would still rely on Inter Milan dropping points against either Barca or PSV.

Despite this gloomy outlook, Brazilian star Lucas Moura still believes Spurs have a chance of beating the odds.

Moura has been a stand out performer for his club this season, but will need to be at his very best to guide them through to the knockouts.

He told SkySports: We need to believe. I think we can qualify, and we believe.

“We have three games left. We have the quality to qualify. We have to keep working, so let’s look forward to the next game.

“I’m a little bit sad because I scored, and we played well. We had control of the game and we could have finished it and score the third, but we didn’t – that’s football.”
