Lucas Moura has insisted that he will give his all for Tottenham and Antonio Conte no matter what position he plays (Football.London).

The 29-year-old has been utilised as a right wing-back during Tottenham’s pre-season friendlies against Team K League and Sevilla, with Antonio Conte insisting that he believes the Brazilian has the attributes to play as a wing-back (90 min).

Conte has a track record of turning wingers into wing-backs, with Ivan Perisic and Victor Moses being prime examples of that. Young Ryan Sessegnon also has experience playing on the left-wing during his Fulham and early Tottenham days.

Tottenham already have Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty at right-wing-back and Djed Spence will reportedly be announced soon as yet another option in that position.

Moura has stated that he is ready to help the team in any way that the Spurs head coach sees fit, revealing he has held a number of conversations with the Italian about what is expected of him.

The winger said about Conte (Football.London): “He was very clear in every conversation. He said I am important for him. It’s good to know. I always talk to him about what he wants from me, and what he expects from me.

“I am ready to give my best for the team, for him. It doesn’t matter the position on the pitch. I am here to help this squad. I always said this. I’m a team player. I will work for the team. I will do my best for the team. That’s it, that’s my mind.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I don’t think Conte would have even bothered commenting on Moura at right-wing-back unless he was planning on selling Doherty or Emerson. Having four players capable of playing the positions seems a little overkill.
