Lucas Moura’s absence from Spurs squad vs Man Utd has been revealed

The Tottenham Hotspur team which will take on Manchester United was revealed a short time ago and there were some eyebrows raised among some of the North London faithful over the absence of Lucas Moura.

The Brazilian was nowhere to be seen in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven or among the replacements at his disposal.

It has now been confirmed by journalist Jonathan Veal that Lucas has been forced to sit out the resumption of the Premier League campaign after he picked up a knock during a Tottenham training session at Hotspur Way earlier this week.

Lucas had struggled for regular first-team football towards the end of Mauricio Pochettino’s time at the club but the 27-year-old came back into favour under the management of Jose Mourinho, where he established himself in the starting eleven on a regular basis before lockdown.

Mourinho has decided to name a strong attacking line-up despite the absence of Moura, with Heung-min Son, Harry Kane and Steven Bergwijn all starting against United.
