His arrival at Tottenham last January was certainly not one of the most high-profile moves of the window but the Swede took to the Premier League like a duck to water.

The 22-year-old is already considered by many o be one of Spurs’ most important players, as evidenced by the team’s struggles when the winger was out injured earlier this season.

Kulusevski has not only shone at club level over the last 12 months but has also emerged as the leader of Sweden’s attack, and the Tottenham star was deservedly voted the best Swedish football of 2022.

The winger thanked his teammates and coaching staff back at the North London club on receiving the award.

He told Aftonbladet (27/12/22 as relayed by Sport Witness): “I am so happy and proud to have won this award as forward of the year.

“First of all, I want to thank my family, they have given me everything and the chance to succeed. Then I also want to thank my friends, teammates and coaches, both Antonio Conte at the club team and Janne at the national team.

“The year I had in the Premier League has been fantastic. I’m so happy and lucky to be at Tottenham and I’m really looking forward to what we can achieve in the future, both in the club team and the national team.”

What is most exciting about Kulusevski is his incredibly high ceiling. The winger’s talent is clear for all to see and he also seems to possess the hunger to continue improving, which is why he could end up becoming one of the best attackers in the world over the next four or five years.
