Luis Campos comments on his future amidst links to Tottenham Sporting Director job

The latest reports from Portugal reveal that Lille Sporting Director, Luis Campos, has denied being in contact with other clubs over a change of job.

RMC SPORT first reported on Wednesday that Campos had asked to leave the Ligue 1 side following disagreements over recent strategic decisions.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding his future since then, with contradictory reports emerging over whether or not he was North London bound.

Portuguese publication RTP claimed that sources close to Jose Mourinho and Campos had confirmed that the Lille man was likely to link up with the special one at Spurs.

However, The Telegraph journalist, Jason Burt denied that there was any deal in place to bring the 55-year-old to Tottenham.

Record (as relayed by Sport Witness) now reports that Campos’ wish is to stay on with Lille but he wants to see several changes in the structure at the French club.

He has also reportedly denied being in contact with Spurs or any other club over a move this summer. Record quote Campos as saying: “I have no contacts with any other clubs.”

While Mourinho will want Campos to join him at Spurs, it is clear that his exit from Lille will not be straight forward given that he is still contracted to the club. While I wouldn’t rule out Campos coming to Tottenham this summer, we have to wait and see how this saga unfolds.
