Modric off to Spain claims Croatian team-mate

Luka Modric - Tottenham Hotspur News

Luka Modric is on his way out of Tottenham and is set for a move to Spain according to his Croatian international colleague Mate Bilic.

Every summer there is uncertainty over the future of Modric at Tottenham and after our failure to qualify for the Champions League it is expected that the midfielder will depart White Hart Lane.

Chelsea and Manchester United have been the prominent names mentioned in the past, but if Bilic is quoted right then we could assume that Luka is off to Real Madrid or Barcelona – which would be the ideal scenario rather than having him face us in the Premier League.

“I’m very good friends with Modric,” Bilic who plays for Sporting Gijon was quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.

“He wants to play in the Spanish league. He loves the Premier League but he wants to play in Spain. He’s very close to agreeing a move.”

All that remains is how much can we really command in terms of a transfer fee for the 26-year-old?
