Stunning reports out of the footballing world this afternoon, as Calciomercato claim that Luka Modric was offered back to Tottenham Hotspur.

Modric was signed by the Lilywhites back in 2008, arriving for £16.5m from Dynamo Zagreb.

The Croatian magician became an instant hit in North London, with his unbelievable trickery, creativity, and apparent inability to lose the ball.

He spent four seasons at the Lane, clocking up 159 appearances and 17 goals for the club before his big money move to Real Madrid in 2012.

Reports now suggest that Modric’s team offered the player not just to Inter Milan, but back to Tottenham as well.

However, Real Madrid refused to let the player leave, and Spurs are thought to have turned down a potential move anyway.

Could this be a move for the future? How much would you pay to have Modric back at the club?
