Luka Vuskovic gives interesting response about his plans at Tottenham next season

Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic is winning over the Hamburg faithful very quickly, so much so that he is already having to address questions about staying at the club beyond the end of the summer.

People associated with Tottenham expect big things from Vuskovic, and the centre-back is already showing why in his first few games in the Bundesliga.

Vuskovic had a chastening debut for Hamburg against Harry Kane and Bayern Munich, but he has shown great mental strength to bounce back from that.

The 18-year-old Tottenham man scored on his home debut for Hamburg last week, and he has followed that up with an outstanding defensive display as HSV emerged with a 0-0 draw from Union Berlin on Sunday.

However, the Croat insisted that he is not thinking too much about the future and is focused on improving and showcasing his talents at Hamburg this season.

When asked what his ambitions are, Vuskovic told Bild (as relayed by Sport Witness): “I don’t have an overarching goal. There are so many strong talents. I want to take each year individually and hope that this season will be my best yet. And I want to enjoy football.”

Vuskovic makes an admission about his brother

The Tottenham man’s brother Mario plays for HSV but is currently serving a doping ban.

According to Bild, the support that the German club have offered Mario has impressed the Vuskovic family, which is why the Tottenham Hotspur player was keen to join the newly-promoted Bundesliga side.

When asked about his brother’s situation, Vuskovic told the outlet: “I saw how strong my brother is. I wanted to be that too. He helps me a lot with his advice on how to deal with brutal setbacks and downsides. This helps me develop, especially mentally.”
