The race for Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic is heating up ahead of the summer, with another European giant expressing interest in the centre-back.

The Croat’s loan spell at Hamburg was hugely successful, with the 19-year-old showcasing that he may be ready to step into the Tottenham backline next season.

However, his performances have also caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Barcelona and Liverpool ramping up their interest in the Tottenham man.

Spurs are trying to tie the teenager down to a new contract, but the race for the young defender is getting more crowded by the day.

Inter Milan planning to poach Luka Vuskovic from Tottenham

According to Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Inter Milan have become the latest club to enter the race for the Spurs defender.

Having won the league and cup double this season, the Nerazzurri are planning to maintain their dominance next term and have already identified key transfer targets.

One of the names on their wishlist is Vuskovic, with Inter wanting the defender to be part of their new look back three next season.

However, the outlet makes it clear that Tottenham will not let the youngster leave on the cheap, with the Lilywhites valuing the player at over €50m (£43m).

Spurs have sent clear message to Vuskovic’s suitors

It was claimed by Football Insider a few days ago that despite the growing interest in the centre-back’s services, Tottenham’s stance remains unchanged.

The report asserted that Spurs had told Vuskovic’s suitors that the defender is not for sale under any circumstances this summer.

The outlet explained that the 19-year-old has already been earmarked for a key first-team role under Roberto De Zerbi next season, with some senior centre-backs potentially on their way out of N17.
