Lyon President reveals where Tanguy Ndombele could end up

Tottenham Hotspur may not have signed a single new player over the last 16 months, but they have dipped into the selling market.

Spurs first team midfielder Mousa Dembele departed for China back in the January transfer window, after struggling with injury problems in the Premier League.

This was a huge loss for Pochettino, as the big Belgian had been a regular first choice when fit for the five years that the manager has been at the club.

Tottenham have yet to replace Dembele, but will be expected to splash some cash on a new central midfielder this summer, now that the window is open again.

One man who Spurs have been linked to is Lyon powerhouse Tanguy Ndombele, with L’Equipe reporting that Spurs have even lodged a provisional offer.

However, it seems that if Lyon President, Jean-Michel Aulas, is to have his way, Ndombele will be transferring to PSG this summer.

Aulas wants the best French footballers to be playing in France, and even implied that proposals had been handed to PSG.

Despite this, the Lyon President added that Ndombele would ultimately choose his own destination, so could a new stadium, a Champions League trophy, and guaranteed first-team football be enough to lure him?

He said (Sport France): “If PSG agrees to align with the two or three proposals we have, and that Tanguy, who will ultimately choose his destination, agrees, obviously it would be nice if he goes to PSG.

“I think that talented French players must be in French clubs. The PSG is the one with the most resources. It is the one who can make alternative proposals to the biggest European clubs.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham should go all in for this guy. He has been man of the match every time I have watched him, and would more than fill the void left by Dembele. He can also chip in with the odd goal and assist too. Surely Spurs will be able to tempt him away from PSG with the promise of guaranteed starts. Levy just needs to stump up the cash for this one big transfer.
