Maccabi Haifa jokingly tweeted out that they might have caught Tottenham Hotspur on the wrong week after the North Londoners thrashed Manchester United 6-1 on Sunday, three days on from putting seven past them in the Europa League qualifier.
Tottenham were on fire on Thursday as they effectively had the game won in the first half against the Israeli side, scoring four quickfire goals before getting two more after the break.
It was a similar story at Old Trafford as the Lilywhites once again got four first-half goals despite going 1-0 down to a Bruno Fernandes penalty, which United were awarded within the first minute.
Jose Mourinho’s men were helped by Anthony Martial’s sending off midway into the first half but looked completely dominant even when United had eleven men.
Maccabi Haifa could certainly sympathise with the Red Devils, having been on the receiving end of some terrific football from Kane and co just a few days prior.
