Maddison says injured Spurs star is ‘one of the sharpest players’ he has ever seen

James Maddison has heaped praise on Manor Solomon, admitting that the winger is one of the most skilful players in the Tottenham squad.

Solomon had a reasonable start to his Tottenham career after his move to the club last summer but the pacy winger has not kicked a ball since the start of October, being sidelined with a meniscus injury.

Over recent months, Spurs at times have been crying out for a player who can beat his man in the final third, something that the Israeli international would have arguably provided.

It is perhaps to make up for his absence that the club decided to bring in Timo Werner on an initial loan deal from RB Leipzig.

James Maddison has been impressed with Manor Solomon

According to a recent report from The Standard, Solomon is not far away from returning to action, with the winger alleged to be targeting the clash at Villa Park on March 10 for his return.

Maddison certainly thinks the 24-year-old can add a lot to the Tottenham side, with the midfielder telling the club’s official programme about the former Shakhtar star: “In terms of actual skills, tricks and quick feet, I’d probably say Manor Solomon, one of the sharpest players I’ve ever seen.”

Solomon is arguably the most adept at one-on-one situations among all the attackers at the club. Even if he does not start, he will be a fantastic option for Postecoglou to bring on from the bench late in matches. He has certainly been a big miss for the side over the last five months.
