‘Made a lot of memories’ – Winger reveals classy message after leaving Spurs

Anthony Georgiou has posted a touching farewell message on social media after his transfer to AEL Limassol was confirmed last week.

Georgiou spent eleven years at Tottenham since joining from Watford’s academy and rose through the youth team ranks at the club to make it into the first-team.

Although the winger only made one competitive appearance for the North Londoners which came in the Champions League against APOEL, he played a big part during pre-season friendlies under Mauricio Pochettino having featured against the likes of Juventus and Roma.

The versatile left-footer failed to make much of an impression during his loan spell at Ipswich during the first half of last season while his time at Bolton Wanderers came to an abrupt end when League One ended early following the COVID-19 outbreak.

Spurs confirmed on Thursday that the academy graduate has made the switch to Cypriot outfit AEL Limassol.

Georgiou has now taken to Instagram to admit that he will always be grateful for what he learned during his time at Tottenham.

This is a good move for Georgiou as he needs to be playing regular football at 23 years of age. He will get regular starts for Limassol and a chance to showcase the pace and crossing ability that he has always possessed.
