Madrid are more than just Ronaldo insists Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has insisted there is more to Spanish Champions Real Madrid than Cristiano Ronaldo. according to an article in FourFourTwo.

His Tottenham side face the tough trip to the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday to meet two-time defending champions in the top of the table clash.

Spurs face superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who his favourite to add to his four Ballon d’Or awards this year. The Portugese is Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer however he has been quiet by his standards in terms of goals this term, netting six goals in all competitions this term.

According to the article Mauricio Pochettino said his players will not solely focus on Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. Speaking via The Mirror “He’s a very important player, but they have lots of very good players,”

“The squad they have is amazing and they have a very good manager. They’re a fantastic club, but you need contributions from the whole squad to win titles.”

Pochettino continued “Cristiano is like [Lionel] Messi, they have a huge impact on their team. He’s one of the best players in the world, it’s clear,”  “It’s difficult to say anything new about these players – like Maradona – as they are just special.

“They can change games and make their teams better. We’re not just playing Real Madrid, we’re playing the best player in the world.”

We are level on six points with Madrid, with both sides having won their opening two Group H fixtures.

It will no doubt be a daunting trip for the lads in Madrid, to concentrate just on Ronaldo would be dangerous and naive. They have too many players that can destroy us and we will have to keep our heads too. Do you think our defence can keep Ronaldo quiet. Can we surprise a few and get a result in Madrid?
