Madrid turn their attention to Lloris

Tottenham face a battle to keep Hugo Lloris out of the clutches of Real Madrid according to an article in The Sunday Mirror.

The article says the Spanish giants are ready to move in if Spurs once again fail to win silverware.

It’s added how we have slipped way down the list of contenders for the Premier League title and that we are now reliant on the Champions League or FA Cup for major honours.

It does say Lloris is settled in London, but he is also fiercely ambitious and that the Frenchman will be 31 on Boxing Day and while that is relatively young for a keeper, the article says he knows that his chances of winning one of the top prizes are now receding.

It adds that our Captain would cost around £25million and be a cheaper option than Manchester United’s David de Gea and if Zinedine Zidane survives his current difficulties at the Bernabeu, that could also be a factor.

With World Cup and European Championship-winner Zidane is an icon in France the article adds that Lloris might find it hard not to listen to offers.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Our man has always said his and poch’s careers are linked and he would not move unless the gaffer did.when is this unsettling of our squad going to stop!i can understand speculation during a transfer window but this has been relentless since the start of the has to stop

    • Correct. Seems to be happening with spurs alot all through the season. Media love it, I listen to talksport and not a month goes by where they are not linking spurs players with other teams. Or saying unless spurs win something the top players will leave..
However the media like to raise speculation and Stoke a fire which is not even there.
Then we as fans start thinking oh no..
If the media didn't speculate they probably wouldn't have much to do. So they chat cr # p and it gets fans talking like this now.
They are not always interested in the truth, alot of the times its what if,or maybe, or should he?
Which in turn gets us on here.
