‘Make no mistake’ – Former Spurs midfielder makes claim after Liverpool defeat

Micky Hazard is confident that Tottenham Hotspur are in the title race despite Liverpool getting the better of the North Londoners on Wednesday night.

The two sides were level on points going into the clash at Anfield but Jurgen Klopp’s men leapfrogged Spurs and went to the top of the table thanks to Roberto Firmino’s late winner.

While Liverpool dominated proceedings in the first half, Jose Mourinho’s men came back into the game after the interval and looked extremely threatening on the break.

Tottenham would have taken the lead had Steven Bergwijn or Harry Kane had their shooting boots on, with both players missing chances they would have been expected to score from.

Mourinho admitted that the game would have been completely different had his side taken their chances and Hazard was certainly in agreement with the Spurs boss.

The former Spurs midfielder admitted that he saw enough in the Lilywhites’ performance to show that they will push the Reds for the title this campaign.

There is no reason why won’t be able to keep pace with them if we keep picking up results the way we have been over the past couple of months.
