‘Makes me laugh’ – Former Everton star amused by Spurs man’s antics in training

Former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has admitted he finds Antonio Conte’s antics on the training ground to be quite amusing.

Conte has not taken long to put his blueprint on the Tottenham side, who were struggling under Nuno Espirito Santo earlier in the season.

The Italian immediately switched to a 3-4-3 and now seems to have settled on his first-choice starting eleven.

The changes have yielded immediate results, with Tottenham winning three and drawing one of the four Premier League games since the Italian’s arrival, conceding just one goal in the process.

Apart from the results on the pitch, what has also stood out about Conte’s since he arrived at North London is the energy that the 52-year-old brings to proceedings.

The Italian has exuded passion on the sidelines in every game, kicking and heading every ball.

The same has been true of him in the clips we have seen of Conte training with the players at Hotspur Way, with the Spurs head coach also getting involved in some drills.

Speaking about Conte, Howard told the YouTube channel Footy with UTI: “I was watching clips of Conte on the training ground and in the box is sliding in.”

“He makes me laugh. He is a joy to watch.”

Spurs Web Opinion

In many respects, Conte seems the polar opposite of Nuno Espirito Santo in terms of his energy and body language.

While Nuno was a humble and likeable man, the club certainly needed a lift following his ill-fated four months in charge.

Conte and his coaching staff have certainly brought a completely different energy to the place.
