Man City receive double injury boost ahead of Tottenham clash

Manchester City have been handed a major boost ahead of their clash against Tottenham Hotspur, with Pep Guardiola confirming that Rodri and Ruben Dias are both back to full fitness.

City are one of the form teams in Europe at the moment and have won 15 straight games in a row in all competitions.

They certainly look like they are going be difficult to stop this season, with Ilkay Gundogan even admitting that he and his teammates are feeling invincible on the back of their recent run of form.

The Daily Mail reported after City’s FA Cup win over Swansea on Wednesday that Rodri, Fernandinho and Ruben Dias were all doubts for the clash against Spurs.

Rodri went off with an injury in win over Swansea, while neither Fernandinho and Ruben Dias made the trip to Wales, with the Brazilian midfielder having a quad problem and the Portuguese international laid low with a fever.

However, Guardiola has now confirmed that Dias and Rodri have fully recovered but he revealed that Fernandinho is unavailable.

The City boss said in his pre-match press conference (via Football 365): “Rodri trained quite good today, I think he will be available.

“Fernandinho is out. Ruben came back today to training.

Sergio is in training, he made his second training session with us.

“I think except Fernandinho, Nathan (Ake) and Kevin (De Bruyne), the rest of the first-team squad are available.”

I expect Mourinho to employ a similar approach to the one we did when we beat them 2-0 in November. However, this City team is a different kettle of fish and I believe they will break our defence down. We need to score at least two or three goals if we hope to get anything out of the game.
