Man United scrap interest in defender – leaving the way paved for Spurs

Tottenham and Manchester United have both been linked with Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka in recent weeks, as they look to strengthen their right back positions (Express).

Spurs have had defensive issues with both Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier this season, with the former likely to be sold this summer.

However, Man United have apparently now scrapped all interest in the Crystal Palace right-back, in order to pursue PSG defender Thomas Meunier (Sun).

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be extremely impressed with the 27-year-old, and would like to bring him in as a much-needed experienced full back.

It is said that Solskjaer has been impressed with young Diogo Dalot this season, but does not want two inexperienced youngsters in the same position.

Spurs should now seize the initiative and go in for Wan-Bissaka early in the transfer window to get the deal tied up before United change their minds, or anyone else comes in for the promising 21-year-old.
