Luke Shaw has described Harry Kane as ‘probably’ the best striker in world football at the moment.
After a poor start to the season by his standards, Kane has been back to his best over the last few months and is showing his quality in front of goal as well as when dropping deep to pick up the ball.
The striker found the back of the net from the penalty spot to help England overcome Switzerland 2-1 on Saturday.
That strike took the England captain up to joint-second place in the nation’s all-time leading goal scorers, with the Spurs star now only four goals short of Wayne Rooney’s record tally of 53 (Goal.com).
Kane will be central to England’s hopes heading into the World Cup in Qatar, with the striker having won the Golden Boot in the last World Cup in Russia.
Shaw backed the striker to finish as the tournament’s top scorer once again and admitted it is a joy to watch the 28-year-old in his current form.
When asked if Kane can win the Golden boot in Qatar, the left-back said (via 90 min): “I don’t see why not.

“For me at the moment, the way he’s playing, he’s one of the best strikers in the world, probably the best. So hopefully you can keep that form up, keep it going.
“He’s showing it week in, week out at the moment and it’s a joy to watch. Long may that continue and I’m sure he will be hunting another Golden Boot and all the other records.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Kane has already done more in major tournaments than any England player in recent history. I believe that the 28-year-old, as well as his England teammates, will head into the World Cup full of confidence after coming so close in the last World Cup and the Euros.
