Man United will NOT sell Tottenham target

The transfer saga of Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United rumbled on throughout the summer transfer window this year, with the Belgian eventually staying in North London.

He has since clawed his way back into Pochettino’s starting XI and talks of a new contract are circling.

Things are not looking so pretty for the man who was tipped for a move in the opposite direction, Anthony Martial.

Spurs have been long-term admirers of the Frenchman, and made approaches to buy him from Monaco before United signed him.

They were however put off by the big price tag, a huge £44.5m that Manchester United paid for him, which could rise to £57.6m.

Jose Mourinho is now said to be fed up with the 22-year-old, after a falling out over the summer, when Martial went AWOL from the pre season squad after the birth of his child.

Despite recent rumours that United are now willing to sell, potentially to the likes of Tottenham or Chelsea, the Daily Star now reports that the Red Devils will not sell the winger.

This is largely due to the fact that Monaco have a claim over half of any profit made on the forwards, meaning if United sold him for £100m, they would only stand to make around £30m.
