Man Utd defender set to return for Spurs clash

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Machester United to Wembley tomorrow afternoon in what will be a crucial game for both sides.

A win for Tottenham will ensure they remain in touching distance of Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table, while three points for Manchester United will see them go level on points with Arsenal and give their prospects of qualifying for Champions League football next season a massive boost.

While Tottenham have been in terrific form over the last couple of months, Man Utd’s fortunes have also turned after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as the interim manager until the end of the season. Under the Norwegian, the Red Devils have played attacking football and have brushed aside all of their opponents comprehensively.

The game against Tottenham represents Solskjaer’s biggest test so far and it appears that United have received a vital injury boost ahead of the fixture, in the form of Argentinian defender Marcos Rojo’s return to action.

Rojo has been out of action since he picked up an injury in the 2-1 loss to Valencia early last month. However, the Manchester Evening News reports that he could be in contention for the game against Tottenham after recovering from his injury.

While Solskjaer remained pessimistic about his player’s chances of being available against Tottenham, he didn’t rule it out completely.

The defender’s return will certainly be a boost for Man Utd as they need all the help they can get in dealing with Harry Kane and company.
