Man Utd player wowed as he praises Spurs star for international display

Cristian Romero has earned the praise of several of his international teammates, including Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez after his performance in Argentina’s win over Jamaica.

There were initially some doubts over whether Romero would even be able to join up with the Argentina squad due to some visa issues.

TyC Sports reported last week that the Tottenham man’s visa to enter the United States had not yet been processed due to the closure of the American Embassy during the mourning period following Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

While Romero did miss La Albiceleste’s win over Honduras last week, he joined up with the squad ahead of their clash against Jamaica and played 90 minutes as Lionel Scaloni’s side emerged 3-0 winners, courtesy of a goal from Julian Alvarez and a brace from Lionel Messi.

The centre-back took to Instagram to post after the game: “Closing the last tour in the best way possible Grateful to be part of this great group.”

His fellow defender Lisandro Martinez replied to the Tottenham man’s post as did goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

While the United man responded with “How well you played” along with exploding head emojis, while the Aston Villa goalkeeper also congratulated him on his performance.

Spurs Web Opinion

Romero will return to Spurs relatively fresh in comparison with the likes of Perisic, Kane, Dier, and Son, given that the Argentine only got 90 minutes under his belt during the international break. He is nailed on to come back into the starting lineup in place of Davison Sanchez for the North London derby on Saturday.
