Manager admits it would be a ‘dream’ to sign Tottenham player

Sao Paulo manager Rodrigo Ceni has admitted that he would love to bring Tottenham winger Lucas Moura to the club.

Moura came through the ranks at Sao Paulo and made his name at the club before earning a big move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2012.

The winger’s current contract with Spurs runs out next summer but, according to reports, the North London club have the option to extend his deal by 12 months (Football.London).

UOL claimed earlier this month that the winger wishes to return to his boyhood club next summer despite attracting interest from European clubs. It was explained that Moura’s family want to move back to Brazil after spending a decade in Paris and London.

Sao Paulo president Julio Casares was asked this week about a potential homecoming for the winger but he chose to remain coy, simply responding: “Who knows.” (Andre Hernam’s YouTube Channel).

The same question has now been put to Ceni and while the 49-year-old said that he would be delighted to have the Tottenham man, he insisted that it is a ‘daydream’ for the time being.

The Sao Paulo manager told UOL: “Gee, I’d like to have Lucas to play in our team… it would help, he’s already experienced, but with strength, identified… but it’s more of a dream, a daydream, let’s say, than a reality.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Whether or not Moura does return to Sao Paulo next summer, it appears like this is going to be his last season at Tottenham. The same could be the case for Hugo Lloris if recent reports are to be believed. So, I am desperate for us to win a trophy so that the pair have something to show for their time at the club.
